Воистину - на вкус и цвет... Только вчера читал ревю NE4EB на eHam, в котором он кроет на все корки это "гибкое меню" и "хорошую работу DSP" :-)Сообщение от UU2JJ

The manual notch filter works. I was very happy about this after reading lots of reviews about the FT-2000 notch problems. However, it requires a lot of user intervention to manually notch out a hetrodyne. On the PRO III, you turn on the manual notch, rotate the control very carefully about a quarter inch left or right, and the signal is gone. With the FT-950, you turn on notch, crank the control as fast as you can seven or eight times in either direction, and you can find the notch. Once found, the notch seems to work well.
Here is something that I found most distrubing. The DSP Auto Notch. On the PRO III, you push the button, and all hetrodynes in the passband instantly disappear. Not attenuated, but gone. That's all you do. Again, you push one button.... all carriers gone. On the FT-950, this is the procedure:
1. Press the MENU button.
2. Locate the DSP menu number by turning the select knob.
3. Press the SELECT knob to convert menu number to plan text... DNF
4. Using the CLARIFIER knob, turn DNF from OFF to ON
5. Press and hold the MENU button for two seconds to store the selection.
The DNF is then active and it does not come close to eliminating all of the carriers in the passband. It seemed to attenuate the loudest one okay, but it doesn't do a great job on the others.
Are you ready to turn off DSP notch? No problem, repeat steps one through 5 above. EVERY TIME.
What a shame.
Here is the saddest part of all. The DNR (Digital Noise Reduction) implementation is very poor.
On the PRO III, you push a button to turn it on and then carefully rotate a single knob from lower to higher to digitally filter the noise. It works. On the PRO III there are no annoying artifacts, and the weak signal "magically" pops out of the noise as the noise is reduced. Beautiful, simple, functional. Okay, you've got a weak DX spot on the cluster, are you ready to turn your FT-950's DNR on?
1. Press the MENU button.
2. Locate the DSP menu number by turning the select knob.
3. Press the SELECT knob to convert menu number to plan text... DNR
4. Using the CLARIFIER knob, select one of fifteen different algorithms.
5. Experiment with each setting to determine which one works best for the given conditions.
5. Press and hold the MENU button for two seconds to store the selection.

А может NE4EB еще не умеет пользоваться своим трансивером?
